High Versus Low Dose‐Rate Intracavitary Radiotherapy in the Treatment of Carcinoma of the Uterus

Abstract: Stockholm method (Fig. 1). This technique has been developed by Forssell, Heyman, Kottmeier, and their associates (21,33,34,51) and it uses a large amount of radium in short and intense treatment. In the uterus a lime source containing 50 to 75 mg, and in the vagina 60 to 100 mg of radium are distributed. Two treatments, each lasting 25 to 28 hours, with a 2 to 3 weeks interval, are given.
