High spin states in102Ag

Abstract: High spin states are populated in l~ using the reaction 160 + 89y with projectile energies in the energy range 60-80 MeV. Gamma multipolarities are inferred from DCO ratios and coincidence relationships are established among the gamma rays assigned to l~ A comprehensive level scheme is constructed with four band systems, two of positive parity and the other two of negative parity. The present study extended spins upto 19-in the main negative parity band. A new band is populated in the present work and is simil… Show more

“…Since the 2593 keV level in Rh has a positive parity, the present measurements fix a negative parity for the band head at 3710 keV in Rh. This is in contrast to the positive parity for this state suggested in [8] from systematics. The negative parity for 3710 keV state suggests that it is formed due to the coupling of Ô ½ ¾ and ¾ protons with ¾ and × ½ ¾ neutrons.…”

“…The involvement of Ô ½ ¾ proton is supported by the observation of strong M1 transitions with ¡Á ½ [8] in the band built over the 3710 keV´¾¿ ¾ µ state. But the excitation of neutrons to ½½ ¾ orbital can lead to an increased deformation in the band built on the 3710 keV state.…”
