High Speed Genetic Lips Detection by Dynamic Search Domain Control

Abstract: In this paper, high-speed size and orientation invariant lips detection of a talking person in an active scene using template matching and genetic algorithms is proposed (refer to Fig. 1). As part of the objectives, we also try to acquire numerical parameters to represent the lips. The information is very important for many applications, where high performance is required, such as audio-visual speech recognition, and personal mobile devices interfaces. The difficulty in lips detection is mainly due to deformat… Show more

“…By iterating these genetic operations, the population for the next generation is produced and the parameters are updated. This GA has already been applied to an eye tracking method and a lip detection method , and high detection accuracy is reported. Therefore, these operations are also effective in this study.…”

“…The proposed method introduces evolutionary video processing . This processing initializes the population just once at the first generation in an initial frame, and inherits them from the final generation to the next frame as the initial population.…”

“…In order to overcome this drawback, our proposed system has to be adapted by oneself to change of size and orientation using few template images. In this paper, the objective is therefore to find a lost property by a template matching using Genetic Algorithm (GA) (1,2) . GA can find a solution from an enormous amount of solution space.…”
