“…Besides, UV detection in the HPLC method is not suitable for biotin detection because its maximum absorption wavelength is at 210 nm, which is similar to that of most organic solvents. The method we used in this study has LODs of 50–100 ng and a recovery rate of 99.6–99.7%, which all fall in the range of that of HPLC (1–1000 ng for LODs and 89.3–104.7% for recovery rate) . Our present method was proved to be an efficient, simple, and precise method for the quantitative analysis of biotin.…”

“…The method is also rapid because the developing time is about 35 min but at least nine samples could be detected simultaneously on one single plate. The retention time of HPLC is 5–26 min . The HPTLC method is time saving.…”

“…Recent reports have demonstrated its applicability for detection of Pseudomonas quinolone signal, 2-heptyl-4-hydroxyquinoline, pyocyanin, 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-thiazole-4-carbaldehyde (IQS), and barakacin as a molecular signature of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. There are a number of analytical techniques reported for biotin determination such as spectrometry, polarography, thin-layer chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and high-performance liquid chromatography. …”
