“…According to types of glycosidic bonds and glycosylation sites, VGL, VRH and VIT are flavone C-glycosides, and RUT (quercetin 3-O-glycoside) is a flavone O-glycoside. Several analytical methods, such as high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV) [17][18][19][20] and capillary-zone electrophoresis with electrochemical detection (CE-ED) [21], have been used to determine several of the four ingredients mentioned above in vivo. However, these measurements were not sensitive enough to determine simultaneously the four analytes of HLF in rat plasma for a pharmacokinetic study after intravenous administra- tion.…”

“…There are many reports focused on in vitro and in vivo analyses of polyphenols in HLE, including chlorogenic acid (CHA) (Chang et al ., ), vitexin‐4′′‐ O ‐glucoside (VG) (Ma et al ., ; Liu et al ., ), vitexin‐2′′‐ O ‐rhamnoside (VR) (Ying et al ., ; Du et al ., ), vitexin (VIT) (Wang et al ., ), rutin (RUT) and hyperoside (HP) (Chang et al ., ; Ying et al ., ; Ma et al ., ). Among these, CHA can prevent oxidation (Ohnishi et al ., ; Salvi et al .…”

“…There are many reports focused on in vitro and in vivo analyses of polyphenols in HLE, including chlorogenic acid (CHA) (Chang et al, 2001), vitexin-4′′-O-glucoside (VG) (Ma et al, 2007;Liu et al, 2012), vitexin-2′′-O-rhamnoside (VR) (Ying et al, 2007;Du et al, 2011), vitexin (VIT) , rutin (RUT) and hyperoside (HP) (Chang et al, 2005b;Ying et al, 2009;Ma et al, 2010). Among these, CHA can prevent oxidation (Ohnishi et al, 1994;Salvi et al 2001) and inhibit hepatic glucose 6-phosphatase (Arion et al, 1997); VR and VG successfully protect the heart against anoxia/reoxygenation injury (Li et al, 2008b;Ying et al, 2008).…”

“…Some flavonoids compounds such as vitexin-2"-O-glucoside, vitexin-2"-O-rhamnoside, vitexin, rutin, hyperoside, isoquercitrin, quercetin and epicatechinin have been isolated from the leaves of Crataegus pinnatifida [8][9][10] as the main active compounds, which exhibited a wide range of pharmacological activities including cardiovascular diseases [11][12][13], antihypertensive [14] and anti-inflammatory [15], free radical scavenging [16], exercise tolerance and improved the symptoms of fatigue and breathing shortness [5,17]. In the recent study, these flavonoids compounds are analyzed by a high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) [9,18,19], capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) method [20], high-speed counter-current chromatography (HSCCC) [21] and ultra-performance liquid chromatography electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometric (UPLC-ESI-MS) methods [22], which have been carried out the pharmacokinetics of vitexin-2"-O-rhamnoside and vitexin-4"-O-glucoside that expressed they were effective compounds. CS, CA and CK are primarily three hawthorn species in Xinjiang (China) [23], previous literature mostly focused on ornamental tree species and rootstocks and breeding materials for cultivated hawthorn.…”
