The vast resources of old working computers are getting bigger and bigger. Companies that consider these old computers as obsolete but still working put these computers to the storage, or worse, junk. Different entities are more and more relying on supercomputers to replace their ordinary and old computers. Supercomputers have become a basic necessity in this generation. It has a wide variety of functions that make our daily work easier. Having a well-built supercomputer with excellent specifications is a must; however, it comes with a cost. The computers can be clustered to create a supercomputer. The computers used in these clustered supercomputers have the exact specifications, such as uniform models with the same number of cores per processor and the same memory capacity. This study focuses on creating a supercomputer using different processors with a different number of cores per processor, processor speed, and different memory capacity. This study can be a valuable system for entities that have old computers in their workplace. They can reuse their old computers and combine them with other computers to create a supercomputer, thus reducing waste and recycling old resources. This study will be using different types of Raspberry Pi (RPi) computers combining old and new models to simulate the scenario of combining multi-core processors in creating supercomputers.

The development direction of the high-performance computing has been primarily oriented toward improvements in thenumber of computing units, and their better organization and interconnection. The central processing units in modern mainframes arein some cases inadequate for data parallelization, because a large amount of data requires a large number of processing units. Thisproblem can be partially overcome by introducing embedded devices with enough processing power and with smaller power dissipation,but the new problems emerge, specifically the problem of their interconnection in a distributed environment. One of such devices is aRaspberry Pi board, which has four processing cores in the latest revision, and we combined four of such devices in a cluster. Thesedevices are interconnected via Ethernet router and by using MPI interface, they can be programmed to work as a single unit. Wesupplied a set of images that were processed on the cluster and measured its performance.

2 ABSTRAK Container merupakan teknologi virtualisasi terbaru, dengan container memudahkan system administrator dalam mengelola aplikasi pada server. Docker container dapat digunakan untuk membangun, mempersiapkan, dan menjalankan aplikasi. Dapat membuat aplikasi dari bahasa pemrograman yang berbeda pada lapisan apapun. Kubernetes digunakan untuk memanajemen container dalam jumlah besar untuk membangun layanan microservices. Orchestration tools ini menyediakan performansi fitur untuk menjaga container tetap berjalan dengan teknik replication control dan autoscale pada container. Penelitian ini melakukan uji komparasi performansi pada layanan yang menggunakan container sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan model kubernetes, dimana proses pengujian dilakukan pada tingkat availability services di layanan yang menggunakan google cloud platform. Ujicoba dilakukan dengan menggunakan locus.io dengan memberikan beban request sampai dengan 25600 pada rancangan arsitektur layanan kubernetes. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat availability mengalami peningkatan dengan penurunan hasil failure request.
