High-performance all-solid-state asymmetric stretchable supercapacitors based on wrinkled MnO2/CNT and Fe2O3/CNT macrofilms

Abstract: A high voltage (2 V) asymmetric stretchable supercapacitor based on two metal oxide/CNT electrodes with high electrochemical and dynamic mechanical cycling stability is presented.

“…7c, α 44 and also some carbon/graphene based SSCs, 45,46 and are comparable to that reported for VO x //VN-ASCs, i.e., 0.61 mWh/cm 3 , 0.5 mA/cm 2 . 39 The highest volumetric-power-density values for the present ASCs are almost similar, i.e., ∼155 mW/cm 3 at the load current of 7 mA, whereas the gravimetric power density is found to be higher for α- densities of the assembled ASCs are also compared with those reported in the literature 9,10,12,41,[47][48][49][50][51] and are shown in the Fig. 7c, which also suggest superior performance for the supercapacitors reported in this study.…”

“…After 4000 cycles, a slow decay of capacitance appears, which could be assigned to the degradation of K + -conducting Nafion membrane from OH − attack. [51,52] Calculated from the GCD profiles of LS AC based supercapacitor at different current densities and electrolytes, Ragone plots are drawn to analyze the energy densities of LS AC based supercapacitors (Figure 5g). It can be seen that 1 m Li 2 SO 4 aqueous electrolyte solution indicates a higher internal resistance of 51.7 Ω and R CT of ≈24 Ω relative to other two supercapacitors, agreeing with previously reported results (Figure 5f).…”

“…[146] Stretchable carbon electrodes have been developed, including graphene papers and single-walled carbon nanotube films, that would promote the fabrication of the stretchable metal oxide/ hydroxide-carbon composite electrodes for high energy density flexible supercapacitors. [148] Fe 2 O 3 -carbon nanotube was prepared by chemical vapor deposition in the presence of Fe precursor and MnO 2carbon nanotube was prepared by redox deposition of MnO 2 on etched Fe 2 O 3 -carbon nanotube (Figure 16f, bottom).
