“…Daughter fronds will separate from their parents after maturation and new daughters will be produced. Thus within a short period a large population can be produced from a single mother frond through vegetative budding 23, 24 . Spirodela polyrrhiza is largely made up of metabolically active cells with very little structural fibre, and the tissue contains twice the protein, fat, nitrogen and phosphorus of other vascular plants.…”

Aplikasi 1 mM menyebabkan terjadinya peningkatan konsentrasi serin andogenus eksplan.…”

“…However, increased susceptibility to photodamage has been reported in excised rye leaves (Kar et al 1993) during low-light-induced senescence. In duckweed, it was previously found that light in low intensity could induce senescence of Spirodela polyrrhiza explants cultivated on a medium without supplementation of exogenous cytokinins and that application of cytokinin into the medium could endow the excised halffronds a life time similar to intact plants (Li et al 2003;Zhu et al 2004). Therefore, an apparent antagonism between cytokinin and light in the low-light-induced excised plant senescence system was demonstrated.…”
