High-Efficiency Automatic Recharging Mechanism for Cleaning Robot Using Multi-Sensor

Abstract: Cleaning robot has the highest penetration rate among the service robots. This paper proposes a high-efficiency mechanism for an intelligent cleaning robot automatically returns to charging in a short time when the power is insufficient. The proposed mechanism initially combines the robot’s own motor encoder with neural network linear regression to calculate the moving distance and rotation angle for the location estimation of the robot itself. At the same time, a self-rotating camera is applied to scan the nu… Show more

“…An adaptive floor cleaning strategy by analyzing the human density is detailed in [ 8 ]. The research work mentioned in [ 9 ] presents an efficient charging mechanism for cleaning robots using infrared spots and neural network-based location estimators. A novel functional footprint-based efficient ship hull cleaning method using evolutionary algorithms is reported in [ 10 ].…”

“…Robot aided cleaning is a field that is advancing by leveraging cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, sensing, energy-efficient systems, etc. [ 19 , 20 , 21 , 22 ]. An effort to bridge the research gap in estimating the quality of cleaning and formulating a strategy to execute it using robots can bring a solution to the paradox—“how clean is clean”.…”

“…With the advent of the 21st century, autonomous robots have become an integral part of intelligent machines for performing various tasks including inspection, manufacturing, warehouse handling, and maintenance (cleaning, dusting and painting etc.). Among them, autonomous cleaning robots play a vital role in many day to day activities and also in industrial automation applications [ 1 , 2 ]. These robots have become the need of the day due to the large demand in household works, hospitals and industries.…”
