Hierarchical Hybrids Integrated by Dual Polypyrrole‐Based Porous Carbons for Enhanced Capacitive Performance

Abstract: Architectural design of nitrogenous polymer-based carbons represents a facile and efficient strategy to improve performance because of their morphological diversity, tailorability, and N-containing structure. In this research, 0D and 1D forms of polypyrrole-derived porous carbons (A-PCS and A-PCT, respectively) are first integrated into nitrogen-doped hierarchically porous A-PCS/PCT hybrids by applying an easy multistep method. This integration, along with chemical activation, prevents serious agglomeration of… Show more

“…There was a broad diffraction peak ( ∼23.5 °) corresponding to the C (002) due to defects and larger inner spaces as associated with N and O ( Fig. 1 ) [36] . The ZnS/N-C-900 sample had three obvious and narrow peaks at 28.5 °, 47.5 °, and 56.3 °, which were attributed to the (111), (220), and (311) planes, respectively.…”

“…The isotherms were typical type I (typical of microporous carbons) with a pronounced N 2 uptake at relatively low pressure, according to IUPAC, which implied the existence of substantial micropores. 29 The pore size distribution of the samples is shown in Fig. 4(b) .…”

“…The shape of the CVs did not change signicantly even at a high scan rate of 100 mV s À1 , implying good double-layer capacitance, decent rate capability and rapid ion transportation and excellent rate capability. 5,22,29 The GCD curves in Fig. 10(b) show a regular symmetric triangular shape, suggesting good electrochemical charge and discharge reversibility, and the corresponding electrode specic capacitance of the symmetric supercapacitor was calculated from the GCD curves.…”

“…1e, the N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherm and corresponding pore size distribution curve (inset) of the assynthesized MgO products exhibited a typical type-IV isotherm with a signicant H3 hysteresis loop, which are typical characteristics of a porous structure. 36 A clear H3 hysteresis loop was observed at medium relative pressure (P/P 0 ) range, which conrmed the presence of considerable mesopores in the MgO nanoparticles. Analysis results for the N 2 adsorption-desorption isotherm were in good agreement with the fact that abundant mesopores existed, as expressed on the pore size distribution curve (inset).…”
