Heliostats Daylighting System for Multi-floor Buildings

Abstract: Daylighting has been considered as a major part of sustainable buildings for saving electric lighting and providing benefits such as, health, visual comfort, and productivity of the occupants. A daylighting system enables the sunlight to capture and deliver it in the interior spaces that cannot be illuminated through windows. Previously, small-scale daylighting systems have been presented using active and passive techniques. This paper presents a daylighting scheme to illuminate the interior of a multi-floor b… Show more

“…Importantly, is mentioned the better efficiency daylight illuminance of this type of light pipe in a deep building And offers office space due to the installation of a light pipe on different floor levels. Irfan Ullah [35] analyzed a long light tube that has a side aperture on each floor; the light tube with 1m diameter, collects light by concentrator mirrors, also a diffuser and prismatic distributors can be connected to side aperture to distribute light on the floor. If light passes through a pipe that length of pipe is long compared to the diameter of the pipe, the number of reflections must be increased to compensate for the loss of beams light [36].…”

“…Daylighting systems are integrated in buildings that provide high-quality illumination. Daylighting systems ought to be simple and cost-effective to follow the needs of the market [17]. However, the correct design and determination of daylighting systems can fundamentally help in improving natural illuminance performance [18].…”

“…Daylighting systems ought to be simple and costeffective to follow the needs of the market. However, the correct design and determination of daylighting systems can fundamentally help in improving natural illuminance performance [11][12][13], as well as enhance the overall room performance [3]. Daylight techniques that do not include light redirection or light transmission solutions to promote daylighting within a place are regarded as a waste of natural resources.…”
