La variabilidad de la frecuencia cardiaca (vfc) es una herramienta que ha permitido evaluar la actividad autonómica en el embarazo, específicamente la preeclampsia podría involucrar posibles desajustes autonómicos en la mujer embarazada. A la fecha, no hay estudios en donde se hayan explorado las asociaciones entre parámetros de la vfc con medidas de citometría hemática en dicha patología. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo fue explorar las correlaciones entre la vfc y valores de citometría hemática en grupos de mujeres con preeclampsia con diferentes criterios de severidad y normotensas. Se realizó un estudio comparativo, de corte transversal y correlacional en el que se estudiaron tres grupos de participantes: gestantes normotensas o Control (n=11), preeclampsia sin criterios de severidad (pscs, n=11) y preeclampsia con criterios de severidad (pccs, n=11). Nuestros resultados mostraron que el grupo de pscs exhibió una correlación positiva moderada (r=0.52, p<0.05) entre el volumen plaquetario medio (vpm) con la actividad parasimpática cardiaca. De igual manera, el grupo Control mostró una correlación positiva fuerte (r=0.82, p<0.01) entre el vpm y la variabilidad cardiaca total. La presencia o ausencia de asociaciones entre la vfc y valores de citometría hemática podrían estar vinculados con cambios cardiovasculares durante la preeclampsia.

In recent years, it has become clear that microbiome play a variety of essential roles in human metabolism, immunity, and overall health and that the composition of these microbiome is influenced by our environment, diet, weight, hormones, and other factors. Indeed, numerous physiological and pathological conditions, including obesity and metabolic syndrome, are associated with changes in our microbiome, referred to as dysbiosis. As a result, it is not surprising that such changes occur during pregnancy, which includes substantial weight gain and significant changes in metabolism and immune defenses. The present review relates physiological changes during pregnancy to alterations in the microbial composition at various sites, including the gut, oral cavity, and vagina. Pregnancy has been linked to such microbial changes, and we believe that, in contrast to certain disease states, these microbial changes are vital for a healthy pregnancy, probably through their influence on the mother’s immunological, endocrinological, and metabolic status.

Objectives Some studies indicate cognitive defects during pregnancy, but the factors affecting these defects have not been addressed. Therefore, the present study aims to determine the impressive factors in executive function during pregnancy. Materials and methods This study was conducted on pregnant women referred to Imam Hossein and Taleghani Hospital in Tehran between October 2021 and October 2019. Eligible people completed the Brain Executive Function Questionnaire of the adult self-report form at the following three points of follow-up: the first trimester of pregnancy, the third trimester of pregnancy, and postpartum. The executive performance scores of the studied subjects and the influencing factors were reported. Results In this study, 210 pregnant women with a mean age of 28.70 ± 7.08 years filled out the questionnaire three times. The Global Executive Composite (GEC) of the study subjects in the third trimester of pregnancy was significantly higher than in the first trimester of pregnancy and after delivery (a higher score indicates a greater impairment of the brain's executive function) which indicates lower executive function during the third trimester. The GEC of the study subjects after delivery was significantly higher than in the first trimester of pregnancy. The level of education of the subjects was the covariance of the changes in the study subjects' executive performance. Conclusion Score of the postpartum period in comparison to the first trimester was significantly decreased, yet. Also, the changes in the executive function of the brain during pregnancy were influenced by the level of education including better function and lower decline in the high-educated group.
