Background Nurses are often the first health professional who identify cardiopulmonary arrests in hospital settings; therefore, they require proficient cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills. Aim The purpose of this study was to evaluate game-based cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for first-year nursing students in terms of students’ knowledge levels, performance, satisfaction, and confidence. Methods This study was conducted following a quasi-experimental design. A total of 104 students were randomly assigned to two study groups. A Serious Game & Integrated Real-Time Audiovisual Feedback Simulator was utilized in the cardiopulmonary resuscitation training of the intervention group. For the control group, only a real-time audiovisual feedback simulator was used. Results There was an increase of approximately 30 points between the pre-test and post-test scores for knowledge in both groups. In regard to performance scores, there were no statistically significant differences between the groups in regard to overall scores, compression depth, and compression frequency were similar at post-test and re-test (p>0.05). The difference between groups was not statistically significant for satisfaction and self-confidence statistically (p>0.05). Conclusion The integration of a serious game into a real-time audiovisual feedback simulator does not provide significant advantages over the use of only a real-time audiovisual feedback simulator in terms of cardiopulmonary resuscitation knowledge and performance.

(1) The COVID-19 pandemic has had many consequences on health systems worldwide. In the Spanish health system, telephone-based consultations were coupled to in-person consultations. This type of consultation was mainly a challenge for the primary care teams, who had to assume the greatest load of care provision. The objective of the present study was to discover the satisfaction and perception of health professionals related to a training program on efficient communication based on high-fidelity simulation. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study based on a convergent and parallel mixed method. The satisfaction and perception of 275 health professionals associated with COVID-19 training based on the structured communication model CERCAR© was analyzed. (3) Results: The assessment of the satisfaction with the training and methodology was high. With respect to the transfer of information, the participants gave a high score to the categories of consolidation of learning, applicability to their work, and benefits for the institution. The qualitative results supported these findings. (4) Conclusions: The training program and its virtual modality were well received, and had a high degree of transference. The application of active, online learning methodologies is a relevant format for continuous education.

Objective to create and validate a high-fidelity simulation scenario about the initial support to suicide bereaved people. Method a methodological research study to create and validate a simulation scenario about postvention. Its creation was based on scientific recommendations, the validation process was carried out by experts, based on an instrument developed by the authors; the data were statistically analyzed using the Content Validity Index and Gwet concordance coefficient. Results the scenario was created to provide initial support to suicide bereaved people in the Primary Health Care context. As learning objectives, welcoming, health care and organization monitoring were proposed according to technical-scientific recommendations. The scenario was validated by 10 specialists in the themes of postvention (5 judges) and high-fidelity simulation (5 judges). The scenario items met the acceptance and reliability criteria (Content Validity Index = 0.80) and satisfactory concordance (Gwet coefficient = 0.640). Conclusion the study presented in full a scenario on postvention with innovative potential that can be used free of charge in clinical simulation development during training of different categories of health professionals, to act in support of suicide bereaved people.
