RESUMOObjetivo: discutir as potencialidades e fragilidades identificadas por enfermeiros da Estratégia de Saúde da Família no desenvolvimento de ações de educação em saúde e o impacto nos indicadores de saúde. Método: estudo qualitativo, descritivo, exploratório, com enfermeiros de uma Unidade de Saúde da Família. A coleta de dados ocorreu a partir de entrevista semiestruturada e observação participante. A análise dos dados foi pela técnica de Análise de Conteúdo na modalidade Análise temática. Resultados: apresentam as potencialidades e as fragilidades vivenciadas pelos enfermeiros, além da percepção acerca das transformações nos indicadores de saúde como melhoria da cobertura vacinal, dos exames citopatológicos e na atenção ao pré-natal. Conclusão: o conhecimento acerca das potencialidades e fragilidades do processo educativo facilita o trabalho em saúde e, por consequência, favorece a melhoria dos indicadores de saúde que são reflexos da dedicação das equipes de saúde da família, pautados na educação em saúde. ABSTRACT Objective: to discuss the potentialities and fragilities identified by nurses of the Family Health Strategy in the development of health education actions and the impact on health indicators. Method: this is a qualitative, descriptive, exploratory study with nurses from a Family Health Unit. Data collection was done through a semi-structured interview and participant observation. Data analysis was based on the Content Analysis technique in the Thematic Analysis modality. Results: there are potentialities and fragilities experienced by nurses, as well as the perception about changes in health indicators such as improved vaccination coverage, cytopathological exams, and prenatal care. Conclusion: knowledge about the potentialities and fragilities of the educational process facilitates health work and, consequently, favors the improvement of health indicators that are a reflection of the dedication of the family health teams, based on health education. Objective: to analyze factors associated with the monitoring of actions to control cervical cancer in the Family Health Strategy, in a health region of northeastern Brazil. Method: a cross-sectional study conducted from January to March 2019 by means of interviews with 241 physicians and nurses from the Family Health Teams of the Vitória da Conquista health region, Bahia, Brazil. Adequate monitoring was assessed by the degree of actions taken to promote, prevent and actively seek to control cervical cancer. Three blocks of variables were tested as explanatory: professional characterization and training; organization of the unit and access to cytopathological exam; and care coordination and integration. Poisson regression with robust variance was employed, adopting hierarchical entry of variables. Results: 51.9% (95% CI: 45.5-58.2) of the professionals performed adequate monitoring for the control of cervical cancer. Being a nurse, working in the municipality’s primary care network (≥2 years), disclosure of results collection through posters and other communication means, existence of a high-grade lesion, time to perform the biopsy ≤1 month, and agility in the release of the reports were elements associated to the outcome. Conclusion: even with the extended coverage of the Family Health Strategy, small municipalities in the Northeast have characteristics that impose obstacles to comprehensiveness, favoring the incidence of high-grade lesions and greater difficulty in the control of cervical cancer. Assessing the assistance quality in this level revealed challenges in the regionalized network.

Survey on the risk factors for cervical cancer known by biomedicine students

The development of cervical cancer is related with human papillomavirus infection with greater intensity the subtypes 16 and 18. Considering that the lifestyle of women influences the development of this cancer, this study aimed to perform a survey on the risk factors for cervical cancer known by biomedicine students. Descriptive and exploratory research, with a quantitative approach was performed with 101 biomedical undergraduates. Data were collected from February to March 2018 through a questionnaire and analyzed in the Statistical Package for the Social Science program. Students in the age group of 18 to 24 years old (89.11%), single (93.07%), with family income between two and three minimum wages prevailed (43.56%). It also showed that participants started their sexual life early (average 16 years old), had more than one sexual partner throughout their lives, had no relation to smoking (100%), most were not alcohol consumers (66%), did not take the Papanicolaou preventive exam (61.39%), did not practice physical activity (55.45%) and had a low frequency in the use of condoms during sexual intercourse (22.08%). It is concluded that there is a need for educational campaigns in Higher Education Institutions, which provide more information about the prevention of Cervical Cancer and the prevention of associated risk factors.
