“…Cutaneous melanoma is still the leading cause of cutaneous cancer-related deaths ( Gupta et al, 2020 ). The treatment of cutaneous melanoma is complex and involves multidisciplinary methods, including surgery, adjuvant radiation and new systemic treatments, such as targeted agents and immunotherapy ( Nenclares et al, 2020 ). Although its incidence rate is low, it is highly malignant ( Ablain et al, 2018 ), metastasis occurs early, and its mortality is high, so it is necessary to study cutaneous melanoma systematically.…”

“…Malignant melanoma is an aggressive cutaneous melanocytic neoplasia. Although melanoma most commonly metastasizes to regional lymph nodes, mortality from melanoma is due primarily to distant spread to visceral organs, commonly the lungs, liver, and brain (18)(19)(20). Considering that metastasis to the thyroid gland is a very rare, after pathohistological analysis of thyroid malignanant tissue diagnosis of synchronous cancers can be confirmed, as seen it this case report.…”

“…It is one of the sinonasal tumors with the poorest prognosis, with an estimated 5-year overall survival of 20-35% [118,119], and with a frequent evolution towards distant metastases even in the case of a locally resectable tumor [120]. Surgical removal, when possible, is the gold standard, and is frequently combined with postoperative radiotherapy or less often with chemotherapy [121,122]. Cervical neck dissection is more debated [123].…”
