Haters beyond the Hate

Abstract: For almost 30 years, funk carioca has been one of the most “popular” musical genres among working-class young adults in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. However, funk’s consolidation as a musical expression does not imply wide cultural acknowledgement.
