Hans Kelsen und die Berufungen nach Graz, Czernowitz und Wien 1916–1919

Abstract: So it seems that the first steps of his career were very difficult for him and only the political circumstances-the collapse of the monarchy and the rising of the republic in 1918-enabled the further steps. This article, however, shows that Kelsen was in discussion for a professorship even earlier, in 1916 at the University of Graz and soon after that in Czernowitz, before he was appointed at the University of Vienna.
