Grupo de pais da unidade de terapia intensiva pediátrica: percepção dos familiares

Abstract

(HCPA) está inserido no Programa de Apoio à Família, do Serviço de Enfermagem Pediátrica. O objetivo do estudo é conhecer a percepção dos familiares das crianças hospitalizadas sobre o Grupo de Pais. O presente estudo é exploratório-descritivo com enfoque qualitativo e foi desenvolvido dentro do HCPA após aprovação da Comissão de Pesquisa da Escola de Enfermagem e do Comitê de Ética da instituição. A coleta de informações foi realizada no segundo semestre de 2008, por meio de entrevista semiestruturada com nove familiares que participavam do Grupo. Os dados foram trabalhados de acordo com a análise de conteúdo, que se constitui de pré-análise, exploração do material, tratamento dos resultados e interpretação. Emergiram duas categorias: "Falando do grupo", que diz respeito à percepção do familiar sobre sua participação e a dinâmica da atividade, que possibilita liberdade de expressão, valorização da família e da equipe multidisciplinar e humanização; e "O grupo como espaço da família", que aborda as possibilidades, facilidades, troca de experiências e outros aspectos da questão. A pesquisa proporcionou novas fontes de conhecimento, melhores intervenções, e novas ideias, fazendo a inter-relação entre a pesquisa e a prática do cuidado à criança e sua família.Palavras-chave: Criança Hospitalizada. Support group for families with children in a pediatric intensive care unit

“…Family members refer that, by sharing their experiences during the support group's activities, they end up getting more vital for being able to perceive the "other" who is next to them, potentiating the strengths of the collectivity (7) . The group becomes a space for exchanging experiences in which families identify with each other, learn from other families' experiences, and become calmer and more confident when they realize that others have already gone through the same problems and have overcome them (3) .…”

“…Emotional support significantly impacts support groups, being the most frequently mentioned by participants in several scenarios (3,(7)(8)(9)(10) . In the support group for family members of transgender children, parents reported this support as the primary outcome of the group, for having the chance to listen to others and share their own experiences, which helped them reduce anxiety and feelings of fear, realizing that they are not alone.…”
