Growth and characterization of pure and metal doped bis(thiourea) zinc chloride single crystals

Abstract: Metal (Cd2+ and Cu 2+) substituted single crystals of Bis(thiourea) zinc chloride (BTZC) are grown by slow solvent evaporation technique, with the vision to improve the physicochemical properties of the sample. Single crystal XRD studies of both pure and doped samples are carried out and the results are compared. Optical absorption and FTIR studies are performed to identify the UV cut-off range and the presence of various functional groups in the grown crystals. The thermogravimetric (TG) analysis of metal dop… Show more

“…As a continuation of our ongoing research on novel organometallic crystals [11][12][13], in this paper we are reporting on the growth and characterization of MMTC, a prominent member of the above-mentioned category. In the present work, relatively large and good optical grade MMTC crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique, and their optical properties were investigated by FTIR and UV-Vis-NIR absorption spectra.…”

“…The effect of doping on BTZC crystals has been studied elaborately in the past few years [10][11][12][13]. Influence of pH on the growth and characterization of BTZC crystal has been reported [14][15][16][17][18].…”
