“…The K app value of the reduction reaction was estimated to be 3.22 × 10 −2 , 3.70 × 10 −2 , 4.49 × 10 −2 and 5.67 × 10 −2 min −1 for PSF1, PSF2, PSF3, and PSF4, respectively. The Kapp values obtained in this work are comparable to Islam et al’s work reported for the PtNPs [ 37 ]. The Kapp for the treated silk fabric enhanced with the increase of the amount of PtNPs on the surface of silk fabrics, indicating that the catalytic activity is determined by the content of platinum on the silk fabrics.…”

“…Ion-track etched polymers coated with catalytically active metallic NPs have previously been investigated as potential catalysts in flow-reactors, showing very high 4-nitrophenol conversion rates. [28,32] Activity towards this reaction has been reported for many transition metals including Cu, [26] Au, [27,50,87] Ag, [32,88] Pd, [34,89] Pt [89,90] and Ru. [91] In the case of Ir, 4nitrophenol reduction has been studied on dispersed NPs with mixed results regarding the activity.…”

“…The use of sodium rhodizonate and sodium squarate for the synthesis of noble metal (gold, silver, platinum, and palladium) nanoparticles was reported in our previous studies. [47][48][49] The method for synthesising noble metal nanoparticles using sodium rhodizonate was found to be fast, having the ability to form nanoparticles of varying size depending on the temperature of synthesis. Moreover, it was found that the nanoparticles had a strong affinity to bind with the cellulose bers, which indicated the ligand exchangeability of the nanoparticles.…”
