Granuloma anular perfurante generalizado

Abstract: Abstract:The authors present a clinicopathological case of Generalized Perforating Granuloma Annulare with extensive distribution of lesions, which are shown in various stages of development. Pustules, papular lesions in annular and arcuate distribution, erosions covered with hematic crusts, maculopapular atrophic areas and scars were the presentation forms of the disease. The histopathological aspects are discussed in detail within non-infectious granulomatous dermatitis. The text is based on the opinions of … Show more

“…In our case, T lymphocytes were identified in the inflammatory infiltrate, especially CD4+ cells, which may support this hypothesis ( Figure 5 A). Some authors suggest that factors such insect bites, ultraviolet radiation, minor trauma, viral infection, thyroiditis and diabetes mellitus are implicated in its pathogenesis [ 2 , 3 ]. Extracellular matrix remodeling is also a key feature in the pathogenesis of GA with large accumulation of macrophages [ 4 ].…”

“…Clinically, perforating granuloma annulare is quite similar to papulonecrotic tuberculid, which is a symmetric eruption of necrotizing papules that ulcerate and crust over, primarily affecting the extensor surfaces of the limbs. 1,7,8 …”
