“…Since the graduates of the Military Veterinary School were insufficient in preventing the diseases of the animals in the hands of the public and could not meet the needs of the country, the necessity of establishing a Civil Veterinary School emerged and the first Civil Veterinary School was established in 1889 based on the regulations and programs from the Alfort Veterinary School, France. Military and Civil Veterinary Schools were combined under one roof in 1920 and teaching activities were carried out under the name of the Higher Veterinary School in 1921 (20).
