With the in-depth development of globalization, individuals are increasingly embedded in a culturally diverse environment. Effective communication and management ability (Cultural Intelligence) of employees in this type of diverse and heterogeneous environment impacts behavior and performance, affecting the sustainable innovation ability of organizations. Researchers have not yet fully assessed the impact of individuals’ cross-cultural management ability on sustainable innovation. Using Cultural Intelligence Theory and Trait Activation Theory, this paper discusses the influence of individual cultural intelligence on sustainable innovation behavior. The results showed that employees’ cultural intelligence positively affected their sustainable innovation behavior. Employee knowledge sharing plays an mediating role between intelligence and behavior. Differences in organizational culture have a negative moderating effect on the impact of employees’ cultural intelligence on knowledge sharing and sustainable innovation behaviors. The research results provide theoretical guidance for managing organizational cultural diversity and advancing cultural intelligence and sustainable innovation behaviors among employees.

Purpose: Knowledge sharing contributes to the success of an organization in various ways. This paper aims to summarize the findings from past research on knowledge sharing outcomes in organizations and to suggest promising directions for future research. Design/methodology/approach: We conducted a systematic literature review that consisted of three main phases: defining a review protocol, conducting the review, and reporting the review. The thematic analysis was conducted on 61 studies, based on which we developed a framework for understanding the impacts of knowledge sharing. Findings: Previous research has investigated knowledge-sharing outcomes at three levels: the individual, team, and organization; specific impacts are summarized for each level. The most commonly studied factors affected by knowledge sharing are creativity, learning, and performance. Knowledge sharing is also found to have some beyondconvention work-related impacts, such as those on team climate and employees' life satisfaction. Research on the outcomes of knowledge sharing is dominated by quantitative studies, as we found only one qualitative study in this review. Based on the discussion of the results, promising avenues for further research were identified and a research agenda was proposed. More research on differential, psychological, and negative impacts, as well as interactional and methodological aspects of knowledge sharing is suggested. Originality/value: To date, no systematic review has been conducted on the impacts of knowledge sharing. This article makes an important contribution to knowledge sharing research as it consolidates previous research and identifies a number of useful research topics that can be explored to advance the field as well as to establish the evidence-based importance of knowledge sharing.

This article analyses the protection of indigenous knowledge in South Africa, exploring if and how indigenous knowledge is aligned with existing policy and protocol frameworks as enacted by the government. Indigenous knowledge is mainly preserved in the memories of elders and shared through oral communication and traditional practices. The question arises: How can knowledge generated in indigenous knowledge systems research be recovered and protected to benefit indigenous knowledge owners and accessible for future generations? The study utilised literature review to critically analyse the policy, protocols, and strategies relating to the protection and preservation of indigenous knowledge systems. Decolonial theory and knowledge ontology and modelling framework were also used as underpinning theories to guide the study. Recommendations suggest the need for decolonizing indigenous knowledge systems through collaborative approach with indigenous knowledge holders and their communities.
