This article shares lessons from the field with program evaluations in the English-Speaking Commonwealth Caribbean (ESCC) region. The research highlighted that the challenges faced by evaluators working in the ESCC are quite similar to those experienced by evaluators elsewhere. However, the findings note the impact of the region’s colonial past and the developing–developed nexus on the ESCC people’s sense of pride and their desire to demonstrate the level of their expertise and its equivalence to the expertise associated with people in North America and Europe. These factors seem to contribute to an important undertone for evaluations in the region and for the challenges that evaluators face, including the limited culture of evaluation as well as the availability and quality of data.

En el presente artículo se propone el concepto de producción social de tecnologías de medios, el cual se articula sobre tres tradiciones teóricas: la perspectiva cosmopolita sobre las tecnologías de medios, la construcción social de las tecnologías (CST) y la economía política de las tecnologías. Esto se concreta en el análisis del funcionamiento de cada app, la historia de desarrollo, los grupos relevantes, los significados y los aspectos económicos de la producción como las infraestructuras, el financiamiento y las formas de distribución. La metodología se basa en el análisis de dos casos de producción: Mi Senado, de Colombia, y Yo Alcalde, de Costa Rica, ofreciendo datos empíricos sobre el desarrollo de tecnologías para la interacción entre Gobiernos y ciudadanía.

En esta investigación, nos acercaremos a la escritura de Raduan Nassar, fijándonos en el modus operandi del escritor. Teniendo en cuenta la prosa-poética, nos adentraremos en el tejido textual de la novela Lavoura Arcaica, publicada en 1975, con el fin de entender cómo se generaron los temas elegidos en un lenguaje lírico ambientado en la prosa, así como de analizar la ambivalencia de los discursos de los protagonistas de esta obra tan poco conocida. De ese modo, el objetivo de esta investigación es conocer algo más la creación literaria nassariana, cuya escritura artística y literaria tiene en cuenta temas densos y claves para el ser humano, a través de un lenguaje lírico-poético muy fuerte y en constante diálogo con otros discursos.
