Globally diverse Toxoplasma gondii isolates comprise six major clades originating from a small number of distinct ancestral lineages

Abstract: Marked phenotypic variation characterizes isolates of Toxoplasma gondii, a ubiquitous zoonotic parasite that serves as an important experimental model for studying apicomplexan parasites.
