“…The melanin pigment in the surface is apparent early or it may delay in appearance from age of 1 month to 2 years in the rare Btardive^type. A GCMN larger than 9.9 cm in diameter occurs in 1 per 20,000 newborns; larger than 20 cm in diameter occurs in 1 per 500,000 newborns [1][2][3]. An equal prevalence exists in males and females.…”

“…Full-thickness graft can be used only for limited areas, and its availability and Btake^are limited. Even though flaps with the same skin color and thickness is ideal, but it is difficult to get such light colored and thin flaps [2]. Free flaps are like forearm flap; anterolateral thigh flap in a child is difficult technically due to long procedures and microvascular anastomotic difficulties.…”

“…They are categorized into small (<1.5 cm), medium (1.5-19.9 cm), large (>20 cm) and very large or giant 'garment' nevi (>40-60 cm) [12]. CMN have the tendency to enlarge in proportion to the growth of the child and may additionally develop changes in color and surface topography over time [13,14]. Although the absolute risk for developing melanoma in association with CMN is low, the relative risk is high, and is more significant for larger CMN than for smaller CMN [15].…”

“…Thus, the management of CMNs needs to be individualized for each patient 5 . There are many treatment options for CMNs: surgical excision, dermabrasions, curettage, laser treatment, chemical peels and cryosurgery 1,6 .
