Nowadays, aging is the actual theme above the world. Scientists are working on to prevent aging. In this article, we discuss how Urolithin effects on human body and aging process.Urolithin A (UA) is a natural compound produced by gut bacteria from ingested ellagitannins (ETs) and ellagic acid (EA), complex polyphenols abundant in foods such as pomegranate, berries, and nuts.Mitochondria play a crucial role in cellular function and are particularly important in aging and decrepit cells by the function of mitophagy. During this process pathological mitochondria are killed, that controls the quality of mitochondrias and proteins.Mitochondrial dysfunction can trigger cellular responses associated with inflammation and cellular senescence.Urolithins (microbial metabolites) found in various tissues after ellagitannin consumption, has been demonstrated to possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.

China has different ethnic minorities that establish their own medical systems and practice experience for thousand years, thereafter named Chinese Ethnic Minority Traditional Drugs (CEMTDs) (http://www.cemtdd.com/index.html). Since many compounds from CEMTDs have been reported to perturb human's dysfunction network and restore human normal physiological conditions, the relationships amongst a series of compounds from specific herbs, their targets and relevant diseases have become our main focus in CEMTD modernization. Herein, we have constructed the first Chinese Ethnic Minority Traditional Drug Database (CEMTDD) mainly from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), retrieving CEMTD-related information from different resources. CEMTDD contains about 621 herbs, 4, 060 compounds, 2, 163 targets and 210 diseases, among which most of herbs can be applied into gerontology therapy including inflammation, cardiovascular disease and neurodegenerative disease. Gerontology is highly occurred in XUAR, and has abundant experience in treating such diseases, which may benefit for developing a new gerontology therapeutic strategy. CEMTDD displays networks for intricate relationships between CEMTDs and treated diseases, as well as the interrelations between active compounds and action targets, which may shed new light on the combination therapy of CEMTDs and further understanding of their herb molecular mechanisms for better modernized utilizations of CEMTDs, especially in gerontology.

RNA in centrosomes: Structure and possible functions

A novel RNA was detected in the centrosomes of Spisula solidissima mollusk oocytes in 2006. This RNA was named centrosomal RNA (cnRNA); five different cnRNAs were described. During the sequencing of the first transcript, cnRNA 11, it was discovered that the transcript contained a conserved structure--a reverse transcriptase domain. In a 2005 study, we speculated about several possible mechanisms for determining the most important functions of centrosomal structures and referred to one of them as an "RNA-dependent mechanism". The discovery of RNA specific to the centrosome is indirect evidence of the centrosomal hypothesis of cellular aging and differentiation. The presence of a reverse transcriptase domain in this type of RNA, together with its uniqueness and specificity, makes the centrosome a place of information storage and reproduction.
