Geographical patterns of micro-organismal community structure: are diatoms ubiquitously distributed across boreal streams?

Abstract: A topic under intensive study in community ecology and biogeography is the degree to which microscopic, as well as macroscopic organisms, show spatially‐structured variation in community characteristics.
