There are now more than 15 Peptoniphilusspecies within the genus, seven of which were discovered in 2012 [ [2] , [3] , [4] , [5] , [6] , [7] , [8] , [9] ]. At this juncture, no Peptoniphilus species have been reported in the orbit; Peptoniphilus species have most commonly been associated with diabetic skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, surgical site infections, and chorioamnionitis [ [10] , [11] , [12] , [13] , [14] ].…”
