Generalized Boltzmann Equation with Field‐Dependent Collision Terms Inclusive of Interband Transitions

Abstract: A coupled system of generalized Boltzmann equations with field-dependent collision terms is derived, taking into account both intraband and interband transitions of the charge carriers. The field dependence of the collision terms is shown to be of importance if the field-induced energetic uncertainty becomes comparable with the mean energy of the charge carriers.
