“…A further question regards the adequacy (in location, magnitude and timing) of such reaction. The observations reported herein point towards a possible role for Id-Abs in the physiological attempt performed by the general network of constitutively expressed natural a-Abs, named "Immunculus", (Poletaev and Osipenko, 2003) (which may be roughly defined as the internal "mould" of the optimal metabolic state as reflected by the immune system), to compensate for the neurological loss and to re-establish the pre-existing balance, as indicated by the changes in "failure" scenarios. The role of natural idiotypic (Id-Abs) and anti-idiotypic (AId-Abs) autoantibodies against neuroantigens observed in different neurological disorders is not fully understood. In particular, limited experimental evidence has been provided concerning the qualitative and quantitative serological response after acute injuries of the central nervous system or during chronic mental diseases. In this study, we analyzed the specific Id-Abs and AId-Abs serological reactivities against 4 neuro-antigens in a large population of patients with ischemic stroke, schizophrenia, as well as healthy individuals.Patients with ischemic stroke were tested at different time points following the acute stroke episode and a correlation was attempted between autoantibodies response and different patterns of functional recovery. Results showed variable and detectable Id-Abs and AId-Abs in different proportions of all three populations of subjects. Among patients with different functional recovery after ischemic stroke, a difference in time-related trends of Id-Abs and AId-Abs was encountered. Our observations suggest that changes in the production of natural neurotropic Abs may engender a positive homeostatic, beside a possible pathogenic effect, in specific neurological disorders.

Высокая заболевае-мость рождающихся в современной России детей яв-ляется неизбежным следствием невысокого уровня здоровья многих женщин детородного возраста, при этом тенденции заболеваемости новорожденных за-кономерно соответствуют темпам изменения уровня общего здоровья матерей. Сегодня каждый третий ребе-нок рождается больным [20], при недопустимо высо-ком уровне управляемой патологии, которую в боль-шинстве случаев можно было предотвратить за счет индивидуализированной прегравидарной подготов-ки женщины.Одним из наиболее перспективных направлений в изучении этиологии и патогенеза беременности представляются исследования в области иммуноло-гии и иммунопатологии репродукции [13]. При гра-мотном использовании знаний, накопленных в этой области за последние четверть века, множество слу-чаев неудач беременности можно было бы избежать. При длительном воздействии вредных факторов среды химической или инфекционной природы на организм женщины нередко происходят стойкие нарушения функций ее иммунной системы, что во время беременности может стать причиной неврологических, соматических или эндокринных нарушений у плода и ребенка. определенные иммунные изменения, индуцированные до наступления беременности или возникшие в первой половине беременности, нередко становятся причинами развития нарушений, ведущих к формированию аутизма у ребенка. Соответствующие иммунные изменения можно выявлять с помощью анализа сдвигов в сывороточном содержании определенных аутоантител у женщин, готовящихся к беременности, или уже беременных и соответственно прогнозировать риски неврологических нарушений у будущего ребенка. Nanomedicine: Does this term more than pseudo-scientific "pink of fashio", at least potentially? From a "classical" point of view, the goal of nanomedicine is the creation of nanoscale autonomous technical devices (nanorobots), programmed to perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic manipulation in a living organism: the destruction of malignant cells, destruction of atherosclerotic plaques, and so on. The main advocate is a point of view (technocratic) on the subject of nanomedicine which is controversial, and its feasibility is questionable. Furthermore, most importantly, the question arises -WHY develop and create wonders of engineeringtechnical nanoscale devices for correction of the condition of the body, if they have already devised and are effectively being used by biological systems? Does it make sense to reinvent the wheel if it has already been invented and produced by nature, even if called differently? Is it not better, instead of inventing another bike, to focus efforts and resources on understanding the principles of functioning of the natural nanodevices, as well as practicing ways to improve efficiency (optimization) of their functioning in vivo?
