GDP and Net Migration in Some Eastern and South-Eastern Countries of Europe. A Panel Data and Bayesian Approach

Abstract: and Hungary. The Bayesian approach is utilized for checking whether Poland and Ukraine have similar expectation of GDP and net migration during 1991-2013. A negative correlation was recorded between net migration and the real GDP rate in the previous period. During the period of 1991-1994 corresponding to transition, each 10 percent increase in the GDP rate caused a 0.6 percent decrease in net migration at the significance level of 5%. A higher increase was registered in the economic depression (1994)(1995)(19… Show more

“…At the macroeconomic level, the Bayesian models represented a good alternative to the traditional models from frequentist econometrics. As Simionescu, Ciuiu, Bilan, and Strielkowski (2016) showed, for emergent economies from Central and Eastern Europe where the short data series is a real problem, the use of Bayesian models remains the unique solution. Bayesian techniques do not require special conditions of regularity and they do not suppose testing various assumptions or building confidence intervals.…”

“…В данной статье исследуются основные количественные и качественные параметры развития социального предпринимательства в России на современном этапе. Мы обнаружили, что в России только в середине 2000-х годов стали возникать организации, занимающиеся социальным предпринимательством, а также организации, развивающие инфраструктуру данной сферы и пропагандирующие теоретическую базу данного явления [3]. До настоящего времени не сформулировано универсального определения термина «социальное предпринимательство».…”

“…In the context of globalization, everyone, irrespective of religious beliefs or lack of, has to adapt to actual market challenges and struggle for a better financial situation (Ruiu, 2013;Mukherjee, 2014;Simionescu, Ciuiu, Bilan & Strielkowski, 2016;Streimikiene, Bilan, Jasinskas & Griksaite, 2016;Rakauskiene & Volodzkiene, 2017). Money helps people to improve their standard of living, which in turn ensures better health (Chmielewska & Horváthová, 2016;Suchecka & Antczak, 2016;Pacáková & Kopecká, 2018).…”
