“…Gastric ulcers (GUs) and duodenal ulcers (DUs) are common human gastric intestinal illnesses with a high morbidity of approximately 5-10% over a lifetime, and thus represent leading health issues (Lanas and Chan, 2017). The origin and cause of GUs and DUs remains controversial; however, they are considered to arise from an imbalance between mucosal invasive factors and the protective factors of gastric mucosa, which together result in the destruction of the mucosal protective barrier, leading to ulcer formation (Franke et al, 2005;Zhou et al, 2020).
