Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease and Obesity: Not as Simple as We May Think

Abstract: There is no doubt that, over the last 20 years, westernized countries are seeing a dramatic increase in obesity [1]. This comes at the same time that we are seeing the rates of H. pylori infection in these populations decreasing from 80 % to less than 20 % [2].
