Gasification of leather waste for energy production: Laboratory scale and industrial tests

Abstract: Summary The following paper presents in detail the results of two separate test runs of the leather waste gasification process. The first one was conducted in a laboratory and the second in an industrial installation with 2.5 MW of thermal power. The aforementioned gasification plant transforms 1000 kg/h of various leather waste with ER = 0.38‐0.4 producing hot producer gas with a calorific value of 4.1‐6.5 MJ/m3 used for steam production.
