Gas chromatography mass spectrum and fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis of methanolic extract of Rosmarinus oficinalis leaves

Abstract: The aims of the study were to investigate the presence of phytochemical compounds from the leaves of Rosmarinus oficinalis, using methanolic extraction and report the main functional components by using FT-IR. The phytochemical compound screened by GC-MS method. Seventeen bioactive phytochemical compounds were identified in the methanolic extract of R. oficinalis. The identification of phytochemical compounds is based on the peak area, retention time molecular weight, molecular formula, chemical structure, MS … Show more

“…Interestingly, those bands can be an evidence of the presence of terpenes, such as camphor and eucalyptol, main compounds in R-EO used in the present work and already reported by several authors for rosemary EOs from Morocco (Hameed et al, 2015;Dzimitrowicz et al, 2019;El-harraf et al, 2020).…”

“…In general, after AgNPs biosynthesis the decrease in all peak intensities was observed, and it can also be said that almost all main peaks remained at the same wavenumber positions. The FTIR spectra show broad hydrogen bonds at 3550–3200 cm −1 , which are assigned to O–H stretching in phenols and alcohol compounds [ 28 , 29 ]. Hydroxyl groups and C–H stretches (alkyl groups present in most organic molecules) were observed at ~2927 cm −1 [ 30 , 31 ].…”

“…Based on those two major antigenic determinants several vaccines have been designed. [25] Klebsiella species are routinely found in the human nose, mouth, and gastrointestinal tract as normal flora; however, they can also behave as opportunistic human pathogens. Klebsiella species are known to also infect a variety of other animals, both as normal flora and opportunistic pathogens.…”
