Este artigo aborda a análise de uma unidade didática presente em um livro didático de língua inglesa sob a ótica dos letramentos digitais. A finalidade do estudo do qual este artigo resulta é analisar como as atividades sugeridas no livro didático englobam práticas de letramentos digitais e sua relação com as teorias decoloniais. Para tanto, esta pesquisa qualitativa toma a forma de pesquisa bibliográfica, além de pesquisa documental (PAIVA, 2019), por meio da análise do livro didático Way to English (FRANCO, 2018), parte do Programa Nacional do Livro Didático (PNLD), direcionado para os anos finais do ensino fundamental. A pesquisa documental incluiu a escolha de uma unidade didática presente no livro citado, utilizado no 9° ano de uma escola pública. Para sua realização, adotamos como base teórica, dentre outros, os estudos de Zacchi (2018), Lankshear e Knobel (2008, 2011, 2017), Nascimento e Knobel (2017), quando tratam de letramentos digitais, além de Walsh (2013); Silva Júnior e Matos (2019); Menezes de Souza e Hashiguti (2022), ao discutirem decolonialidade. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam que o recorte selecionado engloba práticas de letramentos digitais e fomenta diálogos com perspectivas decoloniais. Este estudo pretende contribuir para o avanço das discussões e reflexões sobre os letramentos digitais e decolonialidade, considerando o papel dos livros didáticos no direcionamento de atividades diversas que orientam as práticas pedagógicas de docentes de língua inglesa.
