Game Theory for Resource Allocation in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks - A Review

Abstract: <p>In next-generation wireless networks, a user can be connected through Multi-Mode Device (MMD) to the multiple wireless networks in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks (HWN) considering several factors; including network technology, data service type, available bandwidth, Quality of Service (QoS), monetary cost, etc. To deal with all these multi attributes, game theory based models have been used to point out a better solution. This paper evaluates the techniques, methods, advantages, limitations of some g… Show more

“…This effort enables this mathematical tool to handle strategy development which tends to reduce interference in networking and wireless networks. Game theory was used in cognitive radio (W. Wang et al, 2016), sensor networks (Abdalzaher et al, 2016), and mobile social networks (Chen et al, 2015), (Farhat Anwar, Mosharrof H. Masud, Burhan ul Islam Khan, Rashidah F. Olanrewaju, 2018). It is one of the most used mathematical tools in interference management in research work.…”

“…While traditional metrics such as the Percentage of Late Packets (PL), Mean Displacement of Packets (MD), and Mean Displacement of Late Packets (ML) offer valuable insights, the complexities of packet reordering in 6G networks demand more sophisticated solutions. Two such emerging metrics of interest are Reordering Entropy (RE) [102] and Reorder Density (RD). Reordering Entropy applies the concept of entropy to measure the randomness or disorderliness in packet reordering.…”

“…Presence of this problems give rise to various other adverse issues with respect to attended and allocated services in IoT. Irrespective of various work towards resource management in IoT and 5G, not much optimal solution is explored [7]- [9]. Majority of the existing studies have been carried out towards addressing specific problems of resource allocation and not much on aggregation.…”
