Game theoretic approach on Real‐time decision making for IoT‐based traffic light control

Abstract: Smart traffic light control at intersections is 1 of the major issues in Intelligent TransportationSystem. In this paper, on the basis of the new emerging technologies of Internet of Things, we introduce a new approach for smart traffic light control at intersection. In particular, we firstly propose a connected intersection system where every objects such as vehicles, sensors, and traffic lights will be connected and sharing information to one another. By this way, the controller is able to collect effectivel… Show more

“…It targets to gather data traffic flow at intersection in real‐time and optimizes traffic flow by real‐time decision making of controller on green, red light time durations on the basis of game theory. It has not explored techniques to handle different vehicles facing emergency with different circumstances . A decision‐making solution as a model‐driven for service‐oriented architecture, SOAs, is proposed that allows the integration of complex event processing (CEP) with SOA 2.0.…”

“…It has not explored techniques to handle different vehicles facing emergency with different circumstances. 12 A decision-making solution as a model-driven for service-oriented architecture, SOAs, is proposed that allows the integration of complex event processing (CEP) with SOA 2.0. It faces limitation for recommending event patterns and its dynamic generation in a semi-automatic way.…”

“…Thereby, there have been many studies which have focused on individualized intelligent decision-making and automated negotiation among agents (connected objects) with which to provide smart applications [16,17,18,19]. Normally, the challenge of automated negotiation is to design decision-making approaches for allocating resources (negotiation issue) by negotiating (negotiation process) among intelligent agents following a rule-based system (negotiation protocol) of the smart application.…”

“…Existen varias simulaciones desarrolladas con la plataforma NetLogo de sistemas dinámicos y adaptativos de control de tráfico basados en agentes, para una o varias intersecciones. Para el caso de una intersección, es viable mencionar a [18] y [19]. En el primero de ellos, Bui et al [18] reformulan los modelos de competencia económica de Cournot y Stackelberg para el desarrollo del algoritmo inteligente del semáforo, para vehículos con y sin prioridad.…”
