Fuzzy packet size optimization for delay sensitive traffic in ad hoc networks

Abstract: In this paper is considered optimal packet size definition for delay sensitive traffic in WLAN based ad hoc networks. The aim of the paper is to introduce a fuzzy set theory based online sample size definition model, which optimize packet size of delay sensitive traffic for prevailing network conditions. The selected input parameters for the model are a packet error rate (PER) and a change of PER. The model was validated by simulating delay sensitive VoIP traffic.
