Further understanding on fluid flow through multi-porous media in low-permeability reservoirs

Drill string torsional and longitudinal oscillation can significantly reduce axial drag in horizontal drilling. An improved theoretical model for the analysis of the frictional force was proposed based on microscopic contact deformation theory and a bristle model. The established model, an improved dynamic friction model established for drill strings in a wellbore, was used to determine the relationship of friction force changes and the drill string torsional vibration. The model results were in good agreement with the experimental data, verifying the accuracy of the established model. The analysis of the influence of drilling mud properties indicated that there is an approximately linear relationship between the axial friction force and dynamic shear and viscosity. The influence of drill string torsional oscillation on the axial friction force is discussed. The results indicated that the drill string transverse velocity is a prerequisite for reducing axial friction. In addition, low amplitude of torsional vibration speed can significantly reduce axial friction. Then, increasing the amplitude of transverse vibration speed, the effect of axial reduction is not significant. In addition, by involving general field drilling parameters, this model can accurately describe the friction behavior and quantitatively predict the frictional resistance in horizontal drilling.

In recent years, the application of electrical explosion shockwave as a stimulation technology is increasing in oil fields, but lacks relevant theoretical knowledge to support it. In view of this problem, a research was carried out on experimental study of electrical explosion shockwave stimulation on the tight sand reservoir to determine the effective range of the resulting effects. An experimental platform for testing electrical explosion shockwave is established. Porosity, permeability and other mechanical parameters of tight sand stone samples are tested before and after electrical explosion shockwave treatment. The result shows clear improvement of the above mentioned parameters and the effective range.

Taking displacing pressure gradient and threshold pressure gradient into account, we have carried on a research of effective displacement theory in low permeability formation. Based on displacing pressure gradient expression of different production diverging/converging, we get displacing pressure gradient engraving when formational pressure, injection pressure, bottom hole producing pressure, and inter well distance is changing. And analyze its regular as well. On the basis of experimental result, establishing the relationship between threshold pressure gradient and displacing pressure gradient, and analyze the critical value of different pay zones for effective displacement. Study has shown that if we want to drive low permeability formation it is necessary that the displacing pressure gradient is larger than the threshold pressure gradient. It is the optimal choice for low permeability formations effective displacement that the well spacing should be smaller. It can achieve a goal that effective driving low permeability reservoir by the adjustment of taking measures and the injection-production pressure systems modulation. The study has important guiding significance for the development of low permeability formation, and it has got effective verification in oil field test.
