Abstract:Summary
Further examples of the Lu(‐5) blood type have been found in a family with three siblings, providing evidence that it is an inherited character. Parents of the propositus were second cousins but are dead and the family study is incomplete. The results of Lutheran, Lewis and ABH secretor studies do, however, give some positive evidence of the possibility of linkage between Lu, Lu5 and Secretor, and make linkage between Lu5 and Le unlikely.
Abstract. A new antibody, Much., is added to the list of antibodies related to the Lutheran blood group system. The family of the maker of the antibody provides some evidence that the corresponding antigen is not controlled from the Lutheran locus.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
