A alimentação vegetariana e suas derivações conquistaram espaço no mercado, sendo reflexo de mudanças alimentares sustentadas em fatores culturais, de saúde e da questão do bem-estar animal em termos de condições precárias e exploração. Este retrato se estende ao aumento da demanda de produtos vegetarianos no ambiente mercadológico. O presente artigo busca identificar a percepção dos consumidores classificados como vegetarianos, veganos e suas derivações acerca do mercado de alimentos desse nicho. Para isso, fez-se aplicação de pesquisa quantitativa em meio virtual por meio da plataforma Google Forms, com respondentes residentes na cidade de Manaus, capital do Amazonas. A análise de resultados com as respostas obtidas e aporte de estatística descritiva demonstrou que motivados em sua maioria pela causa animal, hábitos saudáveis e meio ambiente, aqueles que se identificam com o critério de inclusão apontado observam a crescente disponibilidade e variedade de produtos não cárneos, ainda com preço pouco acessível e presença em praça de poucos estabelecimentos comerciais voltados a esse público, em contraste com o alto número de serviços delivery, sendo estes aspectos influenciados pela zona urbana em que os respondentes residem.
