Introducción. Las arvenses son uno de los principales problemas en la productividad agrícola, debido a diversas interacciones con el cultivo, como efectos alelopáticos sobre la germinación. Objetivo. Evaluar la alelopatía del pasto kikuyo (Cenchrus clandestinus) en la germinación de frijol (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) variedad ICA Cerinza. Materiales y métodos. El estudio se realizó en el laboratorio de Control de Calidad de la Universidad de Pamplona, Campus Central, Pamplona, Norte de Santander, Colombia, en mayo-agosto 2022. A cada unidad experimental (caja de Petri) con doce semillas de frijol se le agregó 6 mL de extracto acuoso de kikuyo (hoja, tallo y raíz) en tres concentraciones (1, 2,5 y 5 %), más un testigo (0 %), para un total de doce tratamientos. En el lapso de 0 a 12 días, se registró el número de semillas germinadas (NSG), se calculó el índice de tasa de germinación (ITG) y el índice de germinación (IG), y se determinó el perfil biomolecular del extracto acuoso mediante la técnica de espectroscopia transformada de Fourier. Se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar con arreglo factorial (3x4), con medidas repetidas en cada unidad experimental. Los factores intersujetos fueron el tipo de órgano y concentración, y el factor intrasujeto fue el tiempo (12 días) de evaluación. Resultados. Se observaron diferencias significativas (p<0,001) para NSG entre tratamientos por efecto de la concentración del extracto acuoso al igual que para IG, mientras que ITG dependió del órgano (p<0,05) y concentración (p<0,001), fueron afectados de forma negativa conforme aumentó la concentración. En el espectro infrarrojo del extracto se determinó polifenoles, nitrilos y siloxanos. Conclusión. C. clandestinus afectó las semillas germinadas (NSG), el índice de tasa de germinación (ITG) y el índice de germinación (IG), de P. vulgaris, con efecto alelopático del extracto acuoso de hoja en mayor concentración. En los extractos acuosos se determinaron polifenoles, nitrilos y siloxanos, asociados a efecto alelopático.

Analysis of single extracellular vesicles (EVs) has the potential to yield valuable label‐free information on their morphological structure, biomarkers and therapeutic targets, though such analysis is hindered by the lack of reliable and quantitative measurements of the mechanical properties of these compliant nanoscale particles. The technical challenge in mechanical property measurements arises from the existing tools and methods that offer limited throughput, and the reported elastic moduli range over several orders of magnitude. Here, we report on a flow‐based method complemented by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) imaging to provide a high throughput, whole EV deformation analysis for estimating the mechanical properties of liposarcoma‐derived EVs as a function of their size. Our study includes extracting morphological data of EVs from a large dataset of 432 TEM images, with images containing single to multiple EVs, and implementing the thin‐shell deformation theory. We estimated the elastic modulus, E = 0.16 ± 0.02 MPa (mean±SE) for small EVs (sEVs; 30–150 nm) and E = 0.17 ± 0.03 MPa (mean±SE) for large EVs (lEVs; >150 nm). To our knowledge, this is the first report on the mechanical property estimation of LPS‐derived EVs and has the potential to establish a relationship between EV size and EV mechanical properties.

The method of quantitative determination of active ingredients in Altabor substance based on absorption of the ellagitannin complex by ions of iron (II) has been developed. The linear characteristics of the method developed have been identified. The linear dependence of absorbance of the ellagitannin complex of Altabor with ions of iron (II) on the concentration of Altabor has been proven. The accuracy of ellagitannin determination in Altabor substance has been studied. It has been found that the method proposed is characterized by acceptable accuracy and can be used to quantify the active ingredients in Altabor substance.
