Frame Semantics and legal corpora annotation

Abstract: This paper presents a theoretical discussion about the use of Frame Semantics as corpora annotation paradigm. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the applicability of Frame Semantics theory and FrameNet paradigm for the semantic annotation of legal texts. The work presented in this paper is an initial step in the construction of a treebank for the Brazilian legal language.
