Fracture and impact properties of modified nylon 11

Abstract: Supertough nylon 11 is prepared by using a plasticizer. The influence of plasticizers on the impact property and tensile properties of plasticized nylon 11 were investigated. The results show that the impact strength is improved remarkably by methylbenzene sulfonamide, and the tensile strength is almost the same as that of natural-grade nylon 11. The study of the fracture morphology on plasticized supertough nylon 11 indicates that the fracture surface of plasticized supertough nylon 11 has a special feature, … Show more

“…The characteristic peaks at 35.5 and 37.5 ppm are corresponded to tertiary carbon (C8) and primary carbon (C9) in TA. In addition, the characteristic peaks of double‐bonded carbons (C2 and C3) were observed to disappear in the 13 C NMR spectra of PCE‐B and PCETA, indicating that the monomers were polymerized and the PCE was synthesized 39,40 …”

“…Compared with α‐cyclodextrin (α‐CD) and γ‐cyclodextrin (γ‐CD), it has higher thermal and chemical stability, and has the advantages of green production and low cost 16 . β‐CD and its derivatives have been widely combined into dendrimer, block or star copolymers, which can better interact with cement particles and other additives to form a stable dispersion system and improve the water reduction effect of concrete 17,18 . Therefore, it is worthwhile to study the introduction of β‐CD into the molecular structure design of PCE.…”
