Fast dissolving tablets of amlodipine besylate were developed to improve patient compliance for hypertension treatment. Trigonella foenum-graecum (fenugreek) seed mucilage was used as a superdisintegrant in the formulation of fast dissolving tablets by direct compression method. Eight formulations with varying concentrations of fenugreek mucilage, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose and other excipients were prepared and evaluated for physicomechanical properties, drug-excipient compatibility, disintegration time, wetting time, water absorption ratio and in-vitro dissolution. The optimized formulation F6 containing 5% fenugreek mucilage, 75mg microcrystalline cellulose, 90mg lactose showed a disintegration time of 14 seconds, wetting time of 22 seconds and 90% water absorption. In-vitro drug release of 63% was observed within 15 minutes from F6 formulation. Physical and chemical stability studies showed the optimized F6 formulation was stable for 3 months at 40 °C/75%RH. Hence, fenugreek seed mucilage can be effectively used for developing amlodipine besylate fast dissolving tablets with improved patient compliance.

The main objective of this research work was to formulate and evaluate an Orodispersible tablet of Bisoprolol Fumarate for the treatment of hypertension and coronary artery disease. Formulation was designed using systat software version 13.2. 3 2 full factorial design was applied, in which two variables were varied at three levels. The tablets of Bisoprolol Fumarate were developed by direct compression method. The prepared tablets were evaluated for thickness, hardness, friability, weight variation, wetting time, content uniformity, disintegration time and invitro dissolution. FTIR studies indicated that drug and excipients were compatible. Pre-compression and post-compression parameters were satisfactorily within acceptable limits. The results indicated that concentration of croscarmellose sodium and diluents ratio significantly affected on disintegration and in-vitro dissolution study. Formulation SF9 showed shortest disintegration time (7.3 sec.), shortest wetting time (13.4 sec) and better drug release (99.8%) compared to other formulations. Hence it was selected as optimized formulation. The 3D response surface plots indicated that an increase in the concentration of croscarmellose sodium and an increase in the diluent ratio decreased in the in-vitro disintegration time and increased the percentage drug release. Kinetic study revealed that drug release from all formulations followed first-order kinetics. It was concluded that oral dispersible tablets of antihypertensive drug can be successfully formulated and used as a novel drug dosage form for pediatrics and geriatrics with improved patient compliance.

Rheumatoid arthritis, or RA, is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease, which means that your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, causing inflammation (painful swelling) in the affected parts of the body. RA mainly attacks the joints, usually many joints at once. A complexation, derivatization, extraction, evaporation and sensitive-free direct a new, simple, precise, accurate, reproducible, and efficient UV spectrophotometric method is developed and validated for the simultaneous estimation of ternary mixture of rabeprazole, (MET) aceclofenac (SXG) and paracetamol (DGF) in both their bulk form and combined in tablet dosage form recently approved by FDA in 2019 to be used for treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus by simultaneous equation method. The solutions of standard and sample were prepared in methanol: water (80:20 v/v). The 𝜆max for MET, SXG, and DGF were 232.0, 212.0 and 272.0nm, respectively. Calibration curves are linear in the concentration ranges 10-50𝜇g/ml for MET, 1-5𝜇g/ml for SXG and 5-25𝜇g/ml for DGF, respectively. Results of analysis of simultaneous equation method were analyzed and validated for various parameters according to ICH guidelines.
