The objective of this study was to analyze a chitosan hand sanitizer gel formulated with an 8 mL, 10 mL, 12 mL and 14 mL leaf extract (Annona muricata L) against the bacterial inhibition of Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli. The research consists of several stages, namely the test of chemicals against bacterial barrier resistance of the test, the manufacture of leaf extract, the testing of characteristics of hand sanitizer gels with test parameters including homogenity, barrier and bacteria barrier. The research design uses a non-factorial complete randomized design (RAL) method. Data analysis using ANOVA, when there is influence then further testing Duncan. The results showed an average barrier inhibition of 10.17 mm for E. coli and 11.47 mm for S. aureus. The result of the extraction of 280 grams of sardine leaves yielded 238.08 grams extract, a randement of 117.6%, the handsanitzer has been mixed perfectly, the strength ranging from 5 to 7 cm. Hand sanitizer gel gives a real effect on the bacterial resistance of E. coli and S. aureus. The resulting inhibition for S.aureus bacteria is 7.3 mm to 17.5 mm and for E.coli bacteria is 7.2 mm to 9 mm. Base on these results, the average diameter of the inhibition formed is classified as moderate to strong.

Bidara arab leaf (Ziziphus spina-christi (L.) Desf) is one of the plants that have the potential as an anti-acne. The content of secondary metabolites contained in bidara arab leaves include alkaloids, polyphenols, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. These secondary metabolites can inhibit the growth of acne causing bacteria, namely Propionibacterium acnes. The purpose of this study was to create a good gel dosage form of the ethanol extract of bidara arab leaves and to test the antibacterial activity of the gel formulation against Propionibacterium acne. This research method was carried out experimentally on a laboratory scale, namely ethanol extract of bidara arab leaves made in the form of anti-acne gel preparations with several concentration, including F1(1%), F2 (3%), and F3 (5%). Then proceed with the evaluation of the preparation with organoleptic test, homogenity test, pH test, adhesion test, and dispersion test. Anti-acne gel preparations had antibacterial activity based on a concentration of 1% of 12.46 mm (strong), 3% of 13.66 mm (strong), and 5% of 14.71 mm (strong), negative control had no inhibition zone and positive control 20.92 mm (very strong). strong) So, it can be included that the formulation of anti-acne gel preparations able to inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes.

Tobacco leaves have active compounds such as phenols and alkaloids that can be used as antibacterial and antiseptic because they can damage the cell components of microorganisms. Tobacco leaf extract in hand sanitizer gel has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli bacteria at a minimum concentration of 0.25%. Hand sanitizer is an antiseptic product that is used to clean hands and is preferred because it is practical, has a cooling and dries quickly when compared to hand soap. To make hand sanitizer products that are safe for the skin, various chemical compounds are used as building blocks, including CMC-Na and glycerin. CMC-Na acts as a gelling agent and glycerin has a role as a vehicle. This study aims to obtain the optimum formula for hand sanitizer gel preparations with variations in the concentration ratio of CMC-Na and glycerin using Simplex Lattice Design (SLD) and to determine the effect of variations in the concentration ratio of CMC-Na and glycerin on physical, chemical, and microbiological characteristics of the results of the optimum formula for hand sanitizer gel preparations. The research method used in this study is a type of laboratory experiment using Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The data obtained from the research results were processed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) with a 95% confidence level and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that there were 3 optimum formulas for hand sanitizer gel of tobacco leaf extract based on the desirability value, 0.912 (Formula 1), 0.457 (Formula 4) and 0.653 (Formula 5). The variation of the concentration ratio of CMC-Na and glycerin in the optimum formula showed that CMC-Na had the most dominant influence on physical (homogeneity), chemical (total flavonoid) and microbiological (antibacterial and antiseptic) characteristics. Meanwhile, glycerin has the most dominant influence on product viscosity stability. The three optimum formulas have homogeneous gel characteristics.
