We have systematically investigated the influence of Pb and/or Sb doping in Bi,Sr,Ca,Cu,O, high-temperature superconductors. Samples with volume fractions of 110 K phase 395% have been attained by doping appropriate amounts of Pb or Pb + Sb. The optimum ratio of materials, S b co-doping, and fabrication conditions. It is confirmed with x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy that S b is incorporated in the superconductors, which is the first observation of this kind, at least to out knowledge. Pb is incorporated in t h e superconductors to stabilize the high-T, phase. On the other hand. Sb is found to effectivelv Drevent Pb from evaporating during calcination.
