Research activity is an integral part of the educational process at the university. The formation of educational programs of higher education includes not only the development of the main components of the of students training, but also the consideration of scientific directions and research in the field of culture, including library and information activities. The purpose of the article is to prove that there is a clearrelationship between the research activities of university teachers, the research work ofstudents and the formation of educational programs with the approbation of the methodology for analyzing this relationship.Within the framework of the conducted research, the results of the research activities of students and teachers – final qualification papers and publications of teachers of the Faculty of Information and Library Technologies of the Kemerovo State Institute of Culture (KEMGIK) were analyzed; the information obtained was compared with educational programs for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in library and information activities. The analysis of the topics of the final qualifying works is carried out, the leading directions of student research are identified. The correspondence of the disciplines of the curriculum to the research directions is presented. Based on the analysis of publications and an online survey of faculty teachers, scientific interests have been identified, which are reflected in the educational process. The influence of the results of students and teachers researchs on the formation and implementation of educational programs of library and information activities is considered. The analysis of research activities at the faculty has shown that in the course of the educational process, the results of students and teachers researches are used to modernize the content of disciplines, develop new courses, as well as retraining and advanced training programs for library staff. The authors prove that there is a clear relationship between the research activities of university teachers, the research work of students and the formation of educational programs.

User service by means of multimedia is an actual direction of library practice. Modern forms of interaction with the user have wide functionality, attract readers, form the image of an information institution and provide comfortable service conditions. The analysis of the experience of libraries in the creation and use of multimedia products allows the identification of main trends in the use of multimedia in library practice, studying the range of existing multimedia products, their features, advantages and typical errors. The purpose of the work is to study the foreign experience of creating and using multimedia products in servicing library users. In the course of the research, the following methods were used: analysis of the document flow based on the study of foreign professional periodicals, analysis of the websites of foreign national libraries, comparative analysis of foreign and domestic experience in presenting multimedia products on library websites. Foreign experience is considered on the basis of publications presented in foreign professional periodicals and analysis of multimedia sites of foreign national libraries. Multimedia products of domestic libraries are considered based on the analysis of the assortment presented on the websites of libraries of various levels and departmental affiliation. The description of the features of the implementation of multimedia products and their specific assortment is given. The analysis of publication activity on the problem under consideration and the thematic distribution of publications are presented, foreign journals with the largest number of articles on the research topic are identified. It is established that the issues of creating and using multimedia products are relevant not only for domestic, but also for foreign library practice. The interest of foreign authors in providing services in a remote format is noted. The creation and use of multimedia products in publications is mainly presented by the example of describing the experience of national libraries and libraries of educational institutions. The paper analyzes in detail the range and features of the implementation of multimedia products on the websites of foreign libraries in comparison with domestic library practice. The common types of multimedia products presented by foreign libraries and their difference from similar domestic ones are revealed. The forms of information presentation and additional features implemented in multimedia products are considered. It can be noted that the websites of foreign libraries do not reveal unique multimedia products that are not typical for domestic library practice, at the same time, a number of features in the presentation of information and the species assortment are noted.
Open access journals are widespread, including the field of library science. The purpose of the article is, basing on the results of the analysis of foreign journals on library science topics, to prepare a list of journals for potential publishing Russian scientists’ articles in them. The selection of journals was carried out on the platforms Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Dimensions, Lens.org and Scimago Journal & Country Rank. Non-thematic journals were eliminated from the initial sample of journals; the remained ones were analyzed according to the following parameters: reflection of journal data on major world open access resources, indexing in international databases (Web of Science and Scopus), quartile (Q1 и Q2 from Scimago Journal & Country Rank), as well as open access models, price policy and availability of an open license. In addition, the studied journals were checked for presence/absence in the “black” lists of journals. Based on these data, the general “portrait” of library open access journals was compiled and the list of recommended foreign open access journals for publishing the Russian scientists’ results of research was marked out.The study embraced 220 open access journals. The results indicated the Directory of Open Access Journals (57, 7 %) as the main platform for journal selection. About 64 % of journals were free of charge for authors with publishers (universities or associations) covering the costs of publishing articles themselves. “Diamond” (about 63.5% of journals) and “Green” (about 43, 5 % of journals) were identified as the dominant open access models, indexed in Web of Science and Scopus – about 60 % of open access journals. The study also revealed the problem of correct reflection of open access journals on the platforms (discrepancy of topic, type of the document, etc.). The list of 12 highly rated journals that library scientists could use when searching for information and publishing their research results in the open information space was compiled, and analyzed for publications of Russian authors in them over the past 5 years (2018–2023).
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
